FSC Thermally Modified Timber: Cambia

The process of thermally modifying wood began in Scandinavia about 25 years ago.The process has evolved today to become a clean and energy efficient technology.

The thermal modification process permanently alters the timbers chemical and physical properties making it more dimensionally stable, less prone to cupping and warping and more resistant to decay.

Emu Timbers is currently sourcing thermally modified timber known as ‘Cambia’ from the U.S.A. The base species is American White Ash. It is 100% FSC Certified, non-toxic, dimensionally stable and decay resistant.

Colour ranges from darker browns to very dark chocolate in colour.
